Customs and taxes

Here’s what to expect with customs and taxes when ordering to the US, EU and beyond.

US deliveries:

Will I need to pay customs charges when ordering to the US?

No – from April 2025, all US orders are sent Delivery Duty Paid (DDP). We cover all duties and taxes upfront, so you don’t need to pay anything extra when your order arrives.

Do I need to do anything for customs clearance?

Yes. DHL will contact you for information to complete customs clearance. You might be asked to confirm your US tax status and provide proof of EIN or TIN. To avoid delays, please make sure you can be contacted on the email address and phone number you provide us with when placing your order.

What should I do if my order is held up in customs?

Reply to any requests from DHL as soon as possible and keep an eye on your tracking for updates. Customs clearance is outside our control, but we’re here to help if you have any concerns.

Who can I contact if I need help?

You can contact us – we’ll be happy to help. You can also contact DHL USA directly, quoting your tracking number.

European deliveries:

Will I need to pay customs charges if I live in the EU?

Yes. We ship from the UK, so if you’re in the EU, additional fees will be charged by customs.

The person or organisation named in the delivery address of your order will be responsible for paying VAT and a handling charge (minimum €20) before the order is delivered:

  • VAT on the value of your order, at your local country rate
  • A handling charge from the delivery company (2-3% of the order value + VAT, minimum charge €20)

The fees are collected by the delivery company. In most cases, the fees need to be paid by the recipient before the order can be delivered.

What if my country is not in the EU?

Orders sent to other countries in Europe (outside the EU) may also be subject to tax and customs charges. Please check the import regulations in your country before ordering.

What can I do to help my order clear customs?

Provide up-to-date contact information (name, address, phone number and email address) for the recipient named in the delivery address on your order, so the delivery company can get in touch.
