If you’re having trouble reducing image resolution or flattening the vector artwork, contact us and we can take a look.

If clicking the upload button doesn’t do anything, your browser may be out of date or incompatible.

Our website works best with the latest versions of:

• Chrome
• Firefox
• Safari

Tabloids and broadsheets must have clear margins around the top, bottom and outside edges – this area is used by the press to grip the paper during printing.

Check the following:

• Keep all text and important content within the safe area
• Use a transparent or pure white background
• Make sure your pages are in the correct order, as our system checks for margins based on page placement
• In InDesign, use a frame to size content correctly and delete unused layers
• Zoom in to check for fine lines or stray pixels at the edges
• In Canva, export your file without ‘Flatten PDF’ ticked

If you’re not sure what’s causing the issue, contact us and we can review your file.

Your PDF needs to match the size of the newspaper format you’ve chosen.

Check that:

• Your document is set up with the correct dimensions for the format you want to print
• You’ve exported it without crop marks or printer’s marks
• You selected the correct format when uploading
• If you’re using our mini template, tick ‘Use document bleed settings’ when exporting. For all other formats, leave bleed unticked
• Your export settings are set to export at 100% size – some software may reset the page size during export

Each newspaper format has specific requirements for page counts. If there’s an issue:

• Check the error message to see the minimum, maximum or required multiple of pages
• Make sure your PDF is exported as pages, not spreads
